Pumpkins' galore!!!

Hello my friends. It's that time of the year again, the leaves are changing colors, the temperature is falling, rapidly I might say, and squash is every-where! Whether it's in your garden or your neighbor's, or perhaps the sale at your local market. There is no shortage of  squash, the question is though, what do you do with it? You've heard of pumpkin pie, right? We all know it came from the vegetable at one point, but how do you do it? Okay, so that's what I am doing today, canning pumpkin... frankly I have NO clue what I'm doing, but like I said, there's no shortage of it... :)

So I'm starting with three pumpkins, no wait, make that two the other one was bad, okay two. First I cut them half, and took out the seeds, (don't throw them away!!!)  and proceeded to cutting them into smaller pieces, I read somewhere that you need to peel them, but.. I'm not sure how to do that, and my mom said I can just pull them off once the pumpkin has softened sounds easier to me I'm just going to try it like that, I have as much as I could fit in a crock-pot and the rest in a large pot on the stove, with about, eh, two cups of water in each.
I'm going to go mess with it and see what it's doing... I'll write a little later... to tell you about my extreme failure, or, if I'm lucky, my extreme feat!

Bye for now!

Update: Ok, well I'm not sure what to think about it right now, the one in the pot is done, but the crock-pot has just barely gotten soft yet.... hmmmmm We'll see.
Update #2: So the "canned pumpkin" is now pumpkin soup! Yum! I'll post the recipe...
So there you have it, it wasn't total failure... :)

Watching ToyStory 3 tonight! Yay! I love ToyStory, I hope this one will be as good as the last!
