Hey people!

Ok, so school did not start today, but we have everything all together for next week. Early Monday morning... yipi. haha

So with the school year starting and every thing going on I have been really busy! I still have to build the green house, get the garden together, clean the brooder house out, and.... a lot of other stuff. I'm very glad I have so many helpers!
So I guess I need to go!

Schoolishness

Hiya every one!

Well, school starts in a few days, so we have been really busy doing every thing that we need to do to get ready for it. So we now have every thing organized, and the A,B,C's are back up on the wall, :) So we're are ready! I hope... :D

Now it's raining! yay! August in Texas is just wayyyyy to hot! Yesterday we tried to go swimming in lake Raven, Huntsville State Park, but, ewwwww! The water was just to gross! :(  But I got to practice my dive! :) Hey you know what? That reminds me! I need to go practice, my violin! Orchestra is starting soon... I don't know when, but soon!  

I'm Back!

Well, it has been a long time, now hasn't it? Sorry I forgot all about you here! But I have been really busy in Mexico. You can check out all I have done at :http://onemonthinmexico.blogspot.com/... I got home Tuesday, BTW.

But anyways, Mexico was Amazing! I can't wait to go back! :) The other day some of my best friends came, the Nimmons, (That is except for Noble) We had a great time! We did Salon day, pretty much, Hair, Nails, and Fabulous makeup!!! (well... maybe not that fabulous...:D)

Now we are getting ready for, you guessed it, School... I'm pretty excited I guess... I'm just really behind, catch-up work, AGAIN! Oh fooey. :) So you can see I've been busy, and I WANT TO GO SWIMMING!!! NOW! :)

And hopefully the Boytins are coming over soon this week, I miss them! :D

Home and what I learned

Hey every one! ahhhh well I'm home and doing good, except for that it is HOT! But other than that it's good. Sorry I didn't write earlier, just the regular thing around here, just busy.

Ah, well I after I wrote last I went to bed, but couldn't sleep, guess I really missed every one more then I thought. So I finally drifted off, only to be woken up three seconds later (or so it seemed), time to get up! Grandpa announced, but I was up already. Then we sadly dragged our Suitcases to the door for Grandpa to put in the truck. We slowly ate our cereal, and grabbed some snacks for the plane. And then we left at 6 in the morning. Time for a long drive to Leon. But it went to fast! Before we knew it we were saying good bye to Grandpa and Grandma and shoving our stuff through security. Then we had our 2 hour plane ride to Houston, that was pretty fun. Lindsay and I played some card games, and ate our snacks. And then it was all over. We had to part right inside the terminal...:( Lindsay went to Denver and I stayed in Texas, it was sad!
Then I had to go through every thing but it was kind of hard, especially because I was really scared. Then some guy in the customs thought I was drunk for some reason! I was so mad! I was thinking 'Dude! I'm only 14! I'm not drunk, all I had was apple juice!' I was so glad to see my family and get out of that place.

What I learned in Mexico      

 On this trip I learned many new things, things about history, (I didn't have any clue who Ignacio Allende was before I came) Things about art, Food, Spanish words, things about different cultures. I learned how to lounge a horse, how to actually ride a horse. I learned so much I don't even know where to start. 

When we visited the villages I leaned about how I am so blessed to have what I have, I leaned about being thankful. I also learned about giving, and how important it is to help the poor people of Mexico, and all over the world.

Well I know there is more to say, but I can't think of the words.

I guess it's time to finish this blog. Thanks for coming along for the ride, it sure has been fun. I'm glad I got to share it with so many people. Love you guys! So for the last time, from here anyways, Adios!     

The last day In SMA!!!! :(

Our last day... 
We got up early and went to another small village to see how the Sewing Ladies are doing, (I will tell you about them later when I get home remind me, Ok?) Then we went with one of the ladies and her husband to a school, which he teaches, to talk about the sewing ladies making school uniforms for them. The people were sooooo nice! And after the meeting they gave us Fresca! Yum! :)

Then we went back to the ranch, and said Goodbye to all the dogs and horses, and to Carrol... :'( I'm going to miss it so much!!!!!!  

And then we came home and packed (Why did I pack that much in the first place?) and went swimming for the last time... Sad! :'(


I really can't believe how fast a whole month went! I am happy to get home, but I am going to miss Mexico so much!

Anyways, I have a early day tomorrow... sooo Good bye for the night!!!! 

The last Sunday...

Hola!

Today we went to church, and sang De Colores, it was so much fun!!! And every one loved it!
 
Then when we came home, it was sunny! So we went swimming. And then it started raining... but oh well we got to do something better! We made our dresses!!! And they turned out sooo cute!!!!! Yay!
Then Lindsay and I read a little bit, I am reading Wild Swans by Jung Chang, it is a true story about three generations in China under Mao. It is so sad! But I am enjoying it. 

Now I think we are going to have dinner soon, spaghetti I hope?!

We only have one more day here!!! :(  

Last Saturday In SMA

Hello every one!

Today we had a breakfast of eggs, cantaloupe, and Churros!!!! (Churros are a delicious Mexican pastry deep fried and covered in sugar) Then we went to a new Organic market that just opened, and then we went shopping, for the last time, and got all the extra goodies we wanted. And then we went to sit in on a master class, right now in San Miguel there is a string quartet 'festival' going on, so there are classes here that the public can sit in on. It was really cool to watch and listen to!

Then we caught a taxi and took a ride home, just in time for me to warm up for my last lesson with Turkan, it went really well today! And I am glad!

Tomorrow we are singing De Colores in church! Now that I just wrote that, I can't get the tune out of my mind! It's very catchy!    

Thankful today!

Today we got to see something very humbling, we went to a small village to bring some food to a poor old couple. They lived in a very small shack, part of it was a storage area for corn and stuff like that, with only a small bed and nothing else. The "kitchen" (if that is what you can call it) was out side in a tiny little building, it was burned inside because the smoke had no way of getting out. The lady had back problems, and arthritis so she could only walk for a little bit. The ground was very uneven and all stone. It was very dirty and unsanitary.

The husband and wife got married when he was 18, and she was 15. They had 10 children, 5 of them had died when they were very young. They had so very little, but they never stopped smiling when we were there, even in all they're heartaches, they were still happy.

It is a good reminder for me, that I never have anything to complain about, I have so much to be thankful for! Theses people don't even have running water, a thing we take for granted.

The trip made me open my eyes, to something we all hear about, but don't very often do anything about.

A "easy" going day

Hello again!

I feel much better than last time I wrote! Yay! soooo, let me see... Ok since last time I wrote, we have gone swimming and gone to choir practice, (for the last time... :()


On Sunday we get to sing De Colores, yay!!!!!!! That will be so much fun! haha

Now Lindsay and I are going to go try and pick out a movie to watch... see you later!!!

Sickness

Blah. I was sick all day yesterday. We were thinking food poisoning... yuck! Lindsay and I both had it, but I was worse. Nice, right? Not. Oh well, we are feeling much better now.

We only have 5 more days here.... :( It has gone wayyyyy to fast. So hopefully we can do every thing we wanted to do before we have to go.


And I will blog again tonight, because I have no idea what we are going to do today!

Having fun on Tuesday

Hey every one! We only have one (1) more week in Mex.... :( I'm very sad, but on the other hand I am happy because I miss every one so much!

Anyways, today we went to the Tuesday Market for the last time, it was so fun! I got a really awesome shirt for 30 pesos (about $2.50), I was very happy with my self! :) Lindsay got some really cool stuff to, a couple of tops, that are very cool, for just like 150 pesos (like $10 or something like that).
Then we came home, and ate our carnitas, that we bought at the market, Yummy! And while I practiced, Grandma and Lindsay went to get something for Grandpa, the store wasn't open so they went to the library and to the fabric store. They bought some really neat fabric for making dresses! I can't wait! hehe.

And as soon as they got home Lindsay and I literally Flew to the pool! haha, and we had a ton of fun, we swam for about 3 and 1/2 hours... :D

Now we are going to eat, :D

A visit to Queretaro

Hello friends! Today we went to the town of Queretaro, it was so awesome! There was a really a really cool fountain that we saw when we got out of the car. It sprayed the water to music! It was so incredible!
:) And then we went shopping! Yay! hehe, I got all kinds of cool stuff for all my great friends and my awesome family back home! :D

Then we went and had lunch at Restaurante 1810... it was really yummy yummy!

Then we went to Costco... and I almost fell asleep... :)

And when we got home Lindsay and I went swimming, and got our hair wet anyways... and I splashed Lindsay, and that was just great! :D hahahaha!

And for dinner we had some yummy Quesidias, and now we are going to go to bed. Or read, or do something that is relaxing. :D

Sunday Swimming

Hmmmm, let me see!

Today we went to church we sang, and it was fun. :D
Then we went to lunch with Harold and Carrol, it was yummy!
Then we went swimming, for like 3 hours....! And Grandma and Grandpa came in two! hehe It was extremely fun! 

And I can't remember what else... :D
